Norwich City 3 Coventry & North Warwickshire 4

A last second winner from winger Mitch Wise saw Coventry snatch the semi
final place away from the hosts.

Despite the long journey C&NW started strongly and took the lead after only
6 minutes with a well taken goal from Centre Forward Mark Best, Coventry
then failed to capitalise on a period of sustained pressure with the
Norwich Keeper being equal to several drag flicks from Cov Captain Dom
Bell. Norwich fought their way back into the match making the most of some
set pieces and a Penalty Flick. to lead 3-1 at half time.
The second half was a tense affair with Coventry again piling on the
pressure without reward until Mitch Wise fired an unstoppable reverse stick
strike into the roof of the net from the top of the circle. More pressure
and multiple free hits and penalty corners were awarded to Coventry as
Norwich desperately tried to hang on finally resulted in the equaliser when
Bell found Cameron Rennie in the circle who made no mistake from close
range. At three a piece both sides fought hard Coventry seemed to have
grabbed the advantage when Norwich were reduced to ten men as their captain
went to the sin bin only for Norwich to be awarded their second penalty of
the match two minutes later, however with their penalty taker in the sin
bin the pressure proved too much and they put it wide. The Coventry Defence
of Czerniewski, Kenny-Herbert, Kettley, Payne and Hollinrake held firm to
deny Norwich many more chances while Cov piled on the pressure the other
end.
With two minutes on the clock Bell and Rennie combined to put Wise through
but with only the keeper to beat he blazed his shot wide, as penalties
loomed with only seconds left Wise was put through again this time he kept
his head rounding the keeper and calmly slotting the ball into the empty
net to book a semi final place.
Coventry now await the semi final draw with the match to be held on the
29th of March.
