Under 15 National Plate Semi Final
Coventry & North Warwickshire 3 Reading 5
Despite giving their all C&NW were unable to overcome the National League Club who were extremely well organised and full of skill and pace.
Reading scored first after only 4 minutes from a penalty corner when man of the match Amaraj Flora had his shot deflected past Jake Basra in the Coventry goal, from the restart Coventry attacked down the right and wontheir first corner of the game which Cov skipper Dominic Bell flicked past Reading keeper Sam Kemp to make it one all. Reading had more of the game but the C&NW defence held out and Coventry came close with Kemp only saved by the post on more than one occasion, until Mahony and then two minutes later Flora fired home for Reading to make it 1-3 halfway through the first period. Three one down at half time Coventry showed no signs of giving up but with only five minutes gone in the second half Reading scored again from another penalty corner, Basra made a series of saves to keep his side in touch and Cov came close again as Best and Wise both had chances. Half way through the second half Wise picked up on a miss struck shot and fired into the roof of the net to make it 2-4.

Reading rocked a little but as Cov chased the game they broke away to make it 2-5 effectively sealing their place in the final, but as has been typical of their performances this season the Coventry youngsters refused to give up and with two minutes to go Matt Kettley scrambled the ball home following a short corner to make the score more respectable at 3-5.
