SEMI FINAL ONE
Rutland 2-1 Team Bath Buccaneers
Ben Harford gave his Rutland side a 2-0 lead at half scoring both goals from open play, with Team Bath Buccaneers unlucky to concede the second just before half time. Team Bath Buccaneers fought back to bring the score line to 2-1 but couldn’t manage an equaliser as the result finished 2-1 in Rutland’s favour.
SEMI FINAL TWO
Woking 2-2 Coventry & North Warwickshire *
* Woking win 4-2 after penalty strokes
Woking took the lead half way through the first half but Coventry and North Warwickshire managed to equalise from a penalty corner making the half time score level at 1-1. Another penalty corner for Coventry & NW saw them take the lead early on in the second half. A tense game for both teams climaxed as Woking were awarded a penalty corner with only minute of time left. A nervous crowd watched on as Woking equalised taking the score to 2-2 with the winner to be decided by penalty strokes.
Woking went first scoring as Coventry & NW missed. Both teams then mirrored each other as they went on to scored their second and miss their third and score their fourth. As Joe Lewin walked up to take the fifth and final stroke for Woking, Coventry & NW were hoping for a miss to give them a chance of reaching a sudden death round but Joe was able to score and Woking went through to the final winning 4-2 on penalty strokes after a 2-2 draw. | FINAL

Two penalty corners saw Rutland take an early lead at 1-0 and then Woking equalised nine minutes after. A third penalty corner given to Rutland just before the half time whistle gave them the advantage at 2-1 going into the second half. Encouraged by their semi final come-back Woking once again fought back and levelled the score at 2-2 from a penalty stroke taken by Chris Way who had scored the first and second goal in his teams thrilling semi-final. The game ended 2-2 and Woking once again prepared for penalty strokes.
Woking, using the same line up as in the semi final, missed their first as Rutland scored. Both teams went on to score the next three. The pressure was on for Woking who had to score their fifth or lose the title but unfortunately they missed as Rutland celebrated winning the Boys U16 Plate 4-3 on penalty strokes after a 2-2 draw. | |
