The Coventry side clinched 5th place in the round robin national finals day held in Nottingham last Sunday. Having won the Midland finals a few weeks ago C&NW went on to represent the Midlands along with local rivals Sutton Coldfield in the national finals. Experiencing this level of competition for the first time the Coventry team battled hard and were not out of place amongst the countries top junior sides, wins against Deeside Ramblers, Old Loughtonians, Sutton Coldfield and Bournemouth combined with losses against Avalon, Ben Rhydding and a 1-0 loss to eventual winners Canterbury saw the Coventry lads placed a very credible 5th in the Country.
All bodes well for the future of hockey in the city and the county with such a talented group of young players already playing at the highest level.
